Everyone will soon have access to the best AI models. That won't be the moat.
We've been building Aurio — a podcast app (React Native + Fastify, microservices on AWS) — almost entirely through agentic development. Claude Code writing, diagnosing, deploying.
The velocity is genuinely staggering: in a single session we shipped a feature, a security fix, a performance improvement, and a data cleanup, in hours.
The Part Nobody's Putting in the Demos
But here's the part nobody's putting in the demos. In that same session:
- the agent deployed to the wrong environment and created orphaned cloud resources
- It cited a real line number — from the wrong file
- It generated a root-cause theory the data flatly disproved
- It stated an assumption as fact
Every one of those was caught by a human, not the model.

The Trust Layer Is the Next Frontier
The lesson isn't "agents aren't ready." They're extraordinary. The lesson is that the velocity is real, and the trust layer is the next frontier.
The next 3–6 months won't be won by whoever has the smartest agent. Everyone gets that. It'll be won by whoever builds the best environment for agents to run in — verification loops, simulations, policy engines, observability, rollback.
Bounded autonomy: agents moving fast inside boundaries you can trust.
